Feeding those who are HUNGRY

Feeding the Hungry

I just finished the Book of Matthew and I am now reading the Book of Mark.  Hhhmmnn, both books have the same context but the book of Mark focuses on Jesus as a servant to his father and to the people.  Anyway, I am writing this because I wanted to share this particular verse to you guys.  I had read it in the book of Matthew but I didn’t bother about it until now and I don’t know why just now.  The verse goes like this;

“If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way.  For some of them have come a long distance.”

Mark 8:3

This is a part of what Jesus said to his disciples before he fed the four thousand people with him during that time.   You might say “What’s with the verse?” or “It’s just have a literal meaning”.  Hhhmmmn, maybe to some it is a very simple verse with a very simple meaning.  I knew it because this was exactly my reaction upon my first encounter with the verse in the book of Matthew but I just realize something deeper with it and it goes like this:

“If I send them home hungry…”, “them” refers to us who are hungry, hungry of God’s wisdom.  Hungry of God’s teaching, of God’s goodness, and all that is about God.  That’s why maybe God gave us the Sabbath day because He wanted to feed us, to feed our heart and soul, to make us full of God’s wisdom and goodness because only through this shall we become strong.  Strong in faith, that no matter what kind of difficulties we are facing our faith in Him shall never ever “faint”.  The road to Him is not as smooth as you think it is; there are a lot of trials that awaits us, without our faith in Him we will never survive.  Therefore let us make our selves “full” so EAT EAT EAT.  :D
